FAQs

When do tickets go on sale?

Tickets are sold as a 4-lecture subscription and by individual lecture and are available for purchase on our website.

Subscribers from the previous season are given two weeks from the announcement of next season’s speakers to renew their subscription. Individual lecture tickets go on sale two months prior to the first lecture.

When do I get my tickets?

Immediately following the purchase of a ticket through our website, customers will receive an email confirming their order, along with an attached PDF e-ticket. Subscribers will use this e-ticket for all four lectures. Individual lecture participants will receive a PDF e-ticket for their specific event. As a convenience, two weeks prior to each lecture, the same PDF e-ticket will be resent in an email reminder.

Customers may either print their PDF e-ticket from the order confirmation or reminder emails or access their e-ticket on the Eventbrite app through their mobile device. If unable to print an e-ticket, please contact us at or [email protected] prior to the lecture, and we will arrange to have a printed ticket available at the Will Call Desk for pickup starting at 6:30pm.

Piazza subscription seat holders will also be mailed four Preferred Access Passes, one for each lecture, to their physical address, within 10 business days of purchase. Each pass will allow the Piazza subscriber access to a photo opportunity with the speaker following the lecture.

Doors to the Leamington Grand Ballroom open at 6:00pm. The lecture begins promptly at 7:30pm.

How long is each Lecture?

Each evening lasts 90 minutes, from 7:30pm – 9:00pm. The Founder and Host of the Lowcountry Speaker Series, James Lamar, provides opening remarks and introduces the speaker. The lecture starts at 7:35pm and lasts approximately 60 minutes.

During the presentation, participants have an opportunity to fill out a “Speaker Question Card.” Ushers collect these cards from the audience at two separate times during the lecture: 8:00pm and 8:25pm. Following the speaker’s formal remarks, and beginning at approximately 8:35pm, James Lamar joins the speaker on stage to present audience questions. The 25-30 minute Question-and-Answer period belongs to the audience, and it is often the most revealing and entertaining portion of the evening.

Can I get an audiotape, videotape, or transcript of the presentation?

By contract, the Lowcountry Speaker Series is strictly prohibited from distributing video, audio, or written transcripts of any presentation.

What is your refund policy?

There is a no refunds and exchange policy for all ticket purchases.
